Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your Tanken account and the personal data associated with it. Tanken is operated by Curiosidad Pte. Ltd. (“Curiosidad”), based in Singapore.

1. Delete it yourself in the app

The fastest way is the self-service option in the app:

  • Open Tanken and go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
  • Confirm the deletion. Your account and the data associated with it are removed.

2. Or request deletion by email

If you can’t access the app, email support@curiosidad.sg from the address associated with your account and ask us to delete it. We may ask you to verify ownership of the account before we proceed.

3. What gets deleted

When you delete your account we permanently remove the personal data we hold about you, including:

  • your account and profile (email address, name and sign-in identifiers);
  • your trail progress and activity;
  • content you submitted, such as photos, audio recordings and written answers; and
  • device and analytics records linked to your account identifier.

4. What we may retain

We may keep a limited set of records where the law requires it or to protect our legitimate interests — for example, transaction and tax records for purchases, and minimal logs needed for security and fraud prevention. Such records are kept only as long as required and are not used to re-create your account.

Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Deleting your account does not cancel or refund a store purchase — manage those through your app store.

5. How long it takes

Self-service deletions take effect immediately. Email requests are completed within 30 days. Backups are purged on our normal rotation, after which the data cannot be recovered.
